This website is operated by Casa Pregueira, part of the Refúgios do Centro brand, holding Local Accommodation License nº 123021, based at Largo Padre Dr. António Freire (Largo da Capela S. When you fill in a contact or booking request form on this website, you may provide us with: name, email, phone number, requested stay dates, number of guests, and a message.
Important: this site does not have its own database where this data is stored long-term. If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, your browser opens the conversation directly, with the message already filled in — we only receive your data if you actually choose to send that message. From that point on, the data lives in our WhatsApp Business conversation, managed directly by the host.
Guest reviews. On the Casa Pregueira page you can, if you wish, leave a public review (name, text and, optionally, city, country and a star rating). By submitting it, you expressly authorise the publication of your name and review on that page. Unlike contact and booking requests, these reviews are stored as files in the site's code repository (hosted on GitHub) and are only published after we approve them manually. The form is processed by Netlify. You may ask for your review to be corrected or removed at any time via reservas@refugiosdocentro.pt.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter (via the site form or the sign-up pop-up), you give us your email address and, optionally, your name. Subscribing requires that you actively tick the consent box and only becomes active once you confirm your email. The list is managed by MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.
We do not use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent, nor do we sell or transfer it to third parties.

Since there is no dedicated site database, any data you send us via WhatsApp is kept only within that platform, for as long as needed to manage your booking or request, and according to those applications' own retention policies. Approved guest reviews remain published on the Casa Pregueira page for as long as they are relevant, or until you request their removal. Newsletter subscription data stays in MailerLite until you unsubscribe.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your data, as well as to object to that processing and to request its portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at reservas@refugiosdocentro.pt. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese National Data Protection Authority (CNPD).
We may update this policy from time to time, particularly if we start using new tools on the site (such as visit statistics). We recommend checking it periodically.
