"We know this region. We love this region. We want to share it."
Refúgios do Centro was born from the wish of a group of friends to come together to run local accommodation and create a different kind of stay — in the Sicó Highlands, in the heart of Central Portugal.
We are not a hotel chain. We are people who know this region deeply — the limestone massif, the stone villages, the slower pace — and who wanted to turn that knowledge into houses where others could feel the same.
Casa Pregueira, in Pousaflores, was the first step: a 19th-century stone house, restored with respect for its origins. Casa das Vendas, in Alvaiázere, is the second chapter of this story, still taking shape. Each house has a family behind it — and it is that close presence we want you to feel as a guest.
A project born between friends, not in a boardroom.
Houses with their own identity, true to the region's architecture and soul.
Every guest is welcomed by people who know and love this land.
Carlos and Lisete, with their daughters Ana and Joana, are the close presence at Casa Pregueira — people of the land, who know every stone and every path in Pousaflores.
Pedro and Catarina, with their daughter Maria Inês, are shaping Casa das Vendas — the second refuge, in Alvaiázere, with the same dedication and care.
